National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4)

The National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) programme provides your supervisors with the leadership, management and business writing skills to create beneficial change from the bottom up, in a practical way. It provides them with some of the tools and techniques to become fully engaged, lead people and plan and manage projects. The programme is developed around a major efficiency improvement project. In this way the programme addresses specific needs of your business.

Achieving Business Success through Staff Development
The National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4) is a New Zealand Qualifications Authority qualification. The following unit standards are compulsory:
1987 Develop strategies to establish and maintain positive workplace relationships
16342 Identify key workplace organisational principles
23396 Demonstrate knowledge of performance management planning
VHNZ will work with you to select the other unit standards that best make up the programme you need for your staff and workplace. A typical programme of study includes the following selection of unit standards:
Candidates are required to successfully complete a total of six days teaching, together with the implementation and management of a project in their workplace. These are typically delivered by attending two, 3 - day block courses. Experience has shown that best learning results are achieved if there is a minimum of three months between the two block courses to implement and report on a project. Alternative timetables and delivery combinations are possible by negotiation.

Our Teaching Method
Our trainers are all experienced practical people. They speak everyday workplace language and have a wealth of real life examples to share with our students. A typical delivery is via the experiential learning method. Over 50% of the lessons are contained in hands-on activities and as part of peer syndicate tasks.
