People credited with this unit standard are able to: configure and position a mobile crane; lift and place regular loads; and prepare mobile crane for road travel mode, and complete documentation.
Note that assessment must be carried out in a crane workplace or equivalent.
Cranes that can be used for assessment against this unit standard include – truck mounted cranes, all terrain cranes, rough terrain cranes. Assessment cannot be carried out using truck loader cranes, or telehandlers, or excavators when being used as cranes.

Entry Criteria The course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.
All trainees must evidence successful completion of US 3788, Demonstrate knowledge of crane types, and safe practices required in the crane industry; and US 3789, Sling regular loads and communicate during crane operations: or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.
