Christchurch Training Centre Grand Opening

Christchurch Training Centre Grand Opening

Friday 23rd August 2019 saw the Grand Opening of our new Training Centre based in Middleton, Christchurch.

A great turn out of local Employers, industry representatives and vendors, ensured the opening event was a success.

The centre was officially opened and blessed and a symbolic carving gifted to the centre was presented. Specialist height trainers demonstrated a rescue, and it also gave the chance for everyone to walk through and see the new fabulous training facility, and celebrate with the whole South Island VHNZ team.

Te Manu

Te manu is shaped in the figure of a tongue because of its ability to share knowledge verbally, in this instance the message is a whakatauki.

This piece came about through the artists interpretation of the whakatauki
“Ko te manu e kai ana i te miro, nōna te ngahere. Engari, ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga, nōna te ao”.

Which means
“The bird that feeds from the forest, that shall be his domain. But the bird that indulges in education, possibilities are enless”.

Te Manu is a reminder to always keep furthering ones horizons.
