Purpose

This aim of this course is to enable a trainee to produce an occupational health and safety incident investigation based on organisational requirements, an incident and a report based on that incident.

Course Objectives

At the completion of this course, the successful trainee will be able to:

  • Understand why workplace accidents/incidents need to be reported and investigated.
  • Be able to explain the concepts of multiple causation and root-cause analysis.
  • Detail an incident investigation process using a hypothetical incident.
  • Produce an incident investigation report based on a documented incident.

Assessment Requirement

Following the one day course, learners will be required to submit a health and safety investigation report which will contribute to the final assessment.
