Purpose

Trainees will conduct and complete a series of marae health & safety activities.

The course allows participants the opportunity to identify and discuss key areas of health and safety and increase compliance awareness.

Potential for future programmes, tailored to suit your marae, can be discussed throughout the course.

Course Content

  • Improve awareness of NZ health & safety legislation.
  • Laws vs Lore.
  • Understand risk assessment and practical control measures.
  • Improve awareness of emergency evacuation.
  • Conduct practical emergency evacuation.
  • Fire safety and duties of a building owner, building warden, fire warden and workers/visitors.
  • Practical review of fire extinguishers.

Entry Criteria

This course is non unit standard based and is designed for all hapū members of a marae.

Special Note

This training can be conducted during a weekend.
