Purpose

This course provides essential information about factors that contribute to injury in the rural workplace along with safe work practices in rural workplaces.

Course Objectives

  • Describe personal and external factors that contribute to injury in a rural workplace
  • Describe strategies to manage personal and external factors that may contribute to injury in a rural workplace
  • Demonstrate knowledge of features of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 applicable to a primary industry operation.
  • Apply the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 in relation to the duties of a primary industry worker.

Entry Criteria

Hold a current New Zealand Firearms licence if handling firearms.
