Height and Access
Theory Lessons: A training room is required that can hold the number of scheduled trainees. The VHNZ trainer will bring their own laptop, projector for theory lessons.
Practical Lessons: VHNZ will provide a full set of height safety equipment but trainees are welcomed and encouraged to make their own equipment available for use during training. Please note all personal equipment must be compliant.
Although many skills sets can be conducted on the ground, it’s always beneficial to operate at height during training to ensure the training is specific to the work environment. If the actual area where you operate at height could be made available that would be preferable so the course can be contextualised specifically to your people.
When conducting working at height training on your site it’s advantageous but not mandatory to have some of the following:
- Exposed beam to suspend ropes.
- Access equipment where used e.g. ladders, MEWPS
We strive to be as accommodating as possible and can conduct practical lessons on the majority of sites. A VHNZ trainer will do a site tour on the day prior or the morning of a training course to establish the best practical area for training.
Note: An advance copy of your own safe system of work for working at height will enable us to take account of this as part of the course.
