This workshop is designed to prepare you for the change in New Zealand's Health and Safety Legislation on the 4th April 2016. It has been designed to bridge Health and Safety managers and practitioners from the old to the new Health and Safety Acts, clarify new terminology and outline the new rules, roles and responsibilities specified in the Health and Safety at Work Act (HSW).
Graduates of this course will understand how the new HSW will impact on them, their operation and business, and be best placed to plan and prepare to manage the change.

Why the Health and Safety legislation has changed.
The legal framework of the new Act and how it will work.
How Regulations, ACOP and Guidelines will fit into the new Act.
The role and responsibilities of PCBU's, officers and workers.
The importance of due diligence.
The roles and responsibilities of Health and Safety Representatives and Health and Safety committees.
Offenses and defenses, and liabilities and penalties, under the new Act.
How to manage the change between the HSE and the HSW Acts.
Means to engage people in improving your organisation's health and safety culture.
