    Confined Spaces in the Water Industry

Purpose
This unit standard is for people who work on water, or wastewater, or stormwater reticulation systems, which collectively make up water reticulation services.

Course Objectives
  • Identify the location, and work procedure to be carried out in the water industry.
  • Examine an entry plan for completeness, and enter, complete work, and withdraw from a confined space in the water industry.
  • Practical training will be conducted utilising the student's onsite working environment and permit to work material.
NZQA Unit Standard
19207   Enter, work in, and exit a confined space in the water industry

Attendance Numbers     Minimum of 8, maximum of 10 per trainer.
Course Duration            1 day

Entry Criteria
Must have completed NZQA unit 18426, Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with confined spaces. Evidence for all trainees must be sighted prior to their attendance.
This course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.

Special Notes
Practical training will be conducted utilising the client's onsite working environment and permit to work material.
